Racial Slur Painted on Phenix City Woman's Cars
A Phenix City, Alabama woman awoke to find not one - not two - but all four of her cars, vandalized with racist graffiti. Carrie Mack's BMW, Ford Focus, Toyota Solaris and Nissan Quest had the letters KKK spray painted on them. Mack said, ""It's just frightening for someone to do this because it is right at the holidays."
Captain Frank Ivey, of the Phenix City Police Department, says they are labeling this an act of "criminal mischief". He also said the charges could be upgraded to a hate crime.
If you have any information on this crime, please call the Phenix City Police at (334) 448-2836.
Some of the online comments, in response to this story, seem to indicate there are racial problems festering in this city. When I searched for similar crimes in Phenix City, I learned that in 2008, two white men were arrested for torching several black churches in and around the Phenix City area.
